Retirement Yenta loves a good hunka hunka beef. And, she also loves a good steak. This past week, your dear Yenta cooked one of her favorites…London broil! This delish dish was inspired by The Kosher Palette. RY, has made a few (only a few) adjustments to suit her taste.
2 1/2 lbs London broil
1/2 cup peanut oil
1/2 cup Gluten Free Soy Sauce
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon dried thyme (or sage)
1 teaspoon hot paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 cup of honey (or real maple syrup)
Score the meat on both sides (make diagonal cuts 1/4 inch deep at 1-inch intervals, making a diamond pattern). Place meat in a ziplock bag.
Combine the oil, soy sauce, vinegar, thyme, paprika, cayenne, and honey and pour it over the meat. Zip the bag and squish the marinade all around to throughly coat the meat. Refrigerate overnight.
When ready to cook, preheat the grill to medium-hot. Grill up the meat as rare or well-done as your family prefers.
Let the meat stand for 5 minutes before carving into thin strips. It’s that simple!
