It’s that time once again, dear Readers. Summer is upon us and corporate America is thinking about some time off. Summer is typically a slower/more laid back time for the work force, and this can be put to good personal use. Retirement Yenta believes you should take some time over the holiday weekend and beyond to ponder and meditate upon the meaning of your life outside of your cubicle. What is important to you? What makes you happy? How are you going to deal with your free time? Are you a Retirement Level 3 or a Retirement Level 9 type of person? (RY firmly believes no one from her generation is a full on Retirement Level 10…there’s just too much to be done in life to sit back with your feet up all the time!!) Retirement planning (beyond how to pay for it) is crucial these days. Many seniors retire and don’t know what to do with themselves. Once the newness of free time wears off, they get bored or depressed and start looking for something to do. Your dear Yenta believes that with the right kind of planning, you can avoid the feeling of loss, depression, or anxiety of life after work.
