Retirement Yenta has always had one thing on her mind: save for retirement. Your dear Yenta has saved, saved, saved for years and years–just to be sure she doesn’t have to worry about money in her old age. Recently, this little Yenta realized something very important–she has created a “save mindset” for herself. This mindset is good to a certain point, but RY believes that as you approach your impending retirement, you should give yourself permission to do a little spending…and do NOT feel guilty about it! Now, dear Readers, RY is not saying go blow the entire wad of savings you have built up, but instead, spend on things that will last you throughout your retirement years. Spend on your Retirement Wardrobe, Retirement Homes, etc…heck, if it makes you happy, spend…but spend wisely! If you are spending wisely, these things will last and you will enjoy them for many years. It’s always best to spend while you still have a little money coming in! So, dear Readers, you may be asking this: What if I have already made it to full retirement…my income is fixed…should I spend? Retirement Yenta says, HECK YEAH…as long as it is within reason. Retirement Yenta wants you to know that it is ok to spend, spend, spend while you are still on the go. You can’t take it with you, so enjoy it while you can. If it makes you happy…spend it while you can!
