Tis the season to begin the annual resolution making and Retirement Yenta has hopped on that train already! Your dear Yenta knows that back in the day when she was working in corporate America, she put many a mile on her puddies (feet). Since becoming a small business owner and starting to work virtually (oh interwebs, how this Yenta loves thee), RY has been pretty stationary. This, dear Readers, has taken a toll on the Yenta’s body. Your dear Yenta has become a bit stiff…and that’s not socially stiff, it’s physically stiff. Recently, RY ran a 5K. Yes, dear Readers…RY COMPLETED a 5K run. This got your Yenta thinking of how she needs to get back in shape. And since New Year’s Resolutions usually get ignored the second week in January, RY has resolved this month to start stretching and walking. RY believes it is best to start small (never go whole hog on something like this…pork is not kosher, and doing too much at one time is a sure way to make your body really sore and to make you want to quit). This little Yenta is working with Stephanie Joiner to do Pilates and get her body all stretched out. She is walking regularly too. Small doses of exercise to start, so by June, RY will be a hot, shapely Yenta in her bathing apparel while walking the shores of her beloved Fire Island and Miami Beach. Retirement Yenta says: EXERCISE. It does a body good.
