Retirement Yenta LOVES to perform her civic duty of voting. She thinks of Susan B. Anthony every time she pulls that lever. Your dear Yenta thinks we are lucky to live in a society that believes in the right to vote. Thanks, Suzy B! Your hard fought battle was worth it! This little Yenta knows something else about voting…that’s how to avoid the long lines and how to get out of town after all is said and done! She wants you to do a little research on your state rules for voting in preparation for any upcoming primary elections, or for any upcoming national elections. She wants YOU to know of the many different ways there are to vote (and to register)! Not only are absentee ballots available, but also in many states, voting begins early, so you can go in and cast your ballot a week in advance!
This past primary, your Yenta jaunted over to her voting location, hopped into a booth, cast her vote, popped into a cab, caught a flight to Miami Beach, and got a tan before the election returns started rolling in. RY believes this is the best way to celebrate good ol’ Suzy B. Get out and vote, then get out of town and watch the returns roll in as she watches the tide roll in from the Atlantic Ocean…with a glass of wine in her hand, raised in a salute to Susan B. Anthony!
