Oy, dear Readers…OY! Sometimes holding on to the past can weigh you down. This little Yenta is talking about articles of clothing that belonged to some dearly-departed loved ones. When RY lost her Papa Yenta she had to go through his things, sort out donations, toss some things, and make hard decisions of what to keep. She kept three articles of clothing that have sat in the back of her closet. That was a few years ago. Now, those three articles weigh heavy on your Yenta’s heart. And, they take up room in her tiny NYC closet. So, dear Readers, instead of letting these items get eaten by the moths, RY has decided to take her advice to Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle and find a way to make these items bring her joy once again. Will it be a quilt? Will it be an apron (have you tried one of RY’s shabbos meals)? Will it be a shadow box? RY has yet to decide.
So, dear Readers, this little Yenta wants you to consider purging stuff that belonged to your dearly departed loved ones, and lifting your spirits. If an item is gathering dust, take a picture, make a quilt, donate it, or simply toss it, like a salad. You will be happy to get it gone.
